No practice Friday for Varsity or JV
Thursday, October 15th, 2009The flu is really kicking in. We had multiple starters and subs out for both games tonight so we are taking a soccer sick day Friday. No practice. If you are one of the ones that has the flu, please stay home and away from other players for a while. This stuff is spreading fast and we would like to nip it right now.
Congrats to Branson
Thursday, October 15th, 2009Congrats to Branson on their 2-1 win at Willard this evening. It was a hard fought game by both teams.
Branson game is on but with changes
Thursday, October 15th, 2009Due to the swamp conditions on the game field, the Varsity and jv games with Branson will be played on the practice field. Parents, bring lawn chairs as there is only one set of small bleachers. Varsity will play first at 4:30 followed by the jv immediately afterwards.
Donations for Brady Laughlin
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009Parents and players: A lot of us are still in disbelief about what happened last Thursday. I am sure some of you have heard that Brady’s parents are having a hard time with funeral costs. I will be taking donations for the next couple of days to take to Liberty Bank to help this family that has lost more than most of us can even imagine. If you would like to help you can come see me or send it with your player to me. The donations will be made from the Willard High Soccer Program. RBM
Back to Back Champs!
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009Well, three weeks later Willard proved it was the best team in the Monett Tournament again, claiming its second consecutive title. The game was tight all the wayy and was a complete contrast in soccer styles. Willard started the scoring when just before halftime when Jacob Chappell found the net off a beautiful ball played to him by Dalton Bagley. Monett tied the game in the second half on a pk by Mauricio. A few minutes later Tyler Sevon too a cross from Jacob Chappell and buried it to give Willard the deciding goal. Final: 2-1 Willard.
On a lighter note, Tyler Dean left his brand new long sleeve varsity jersey at the field. Lucky for us someone brought it to us, well, that might not be so lucky for Tyler. How much do you think he should run to get his jersey back??????
