Middleton Earns All-State Honors

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Willard High School Senior (class of 2008) Patsy Middleton was named to the Missouri All-State Team by the Missouri High School Soccer Coaches Association! Middleton was a four-year varsity starter at Willard and became one of the highest scoring players in Willard history. Without question, Patsy was the strongest “left-side” player to play for WHS since the program began in 1998. Throughout her career, Middleton earned numerous team and All-District/All-Region awards. The All-State award caps a stellar career for Middleton who will continue her play at the collegiate level. Five players from the local Class 1 District were given the following honors:
Tara Bailes and Anne Prenger (Seniors - Springfield Catholic) - 1st Team All-State
Anna DeLong (Junior - Springfield Catholic) - 2nd Team All-State
Patsy Middleton and Jonna Welch (Freshman - Bolivar) - All-State Honorable Mention

Middleton makes the third Willard player in as many years to earn All-State honors (Regina Bodine - 2007, Mikenna Wick - 2006). Patsy will be joining her lifelong friend (and soon to be roommate) Regina Bodine as they are reunited on the field once again at Missouri Valley College! Good luck ladies and thanks for your contributions to Willard Soccer!

Cleats

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

Mom’s and dad’s:  As the new season is fast approaching, new soccer cleats are always on a soccer players wish list.  Well, I have a wish list as well.  Please buy the cleats that are right for your son; comfortable, light, well made and something that is on my wish list - BLACK.  Thats right, please only buy black cleats.  Not only do we want this fine group of young men to play as a team, I want them to look like a team as well.  If there are any questions on this matter or any others please feel free to contact me.
